16-year-old suspected in shooting death of 17-year-old in Anderson turns self in to police

ANDERSON — A 16-year-old boy sought in connection with the shooting death of a 17-year-old boy at an Anderson apartment complex late Sunday has turned himself in, police said.

According to a report from the Anderson Police Department, officers were called to Fairview Park Apartments around 9:15 p.m. Sunday on report of a shooting.

Police say the victim, Andon Oliver, was found inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound. Oliver was rushed to the hospital but later died. His death is being investigated as a homicide.

A number of witnesses were interviewed following the shooting and police identified a person of interest as a 16-year-old Anderson teen, who is now in police custody.
