PLAINFIELD — Two people were arrested and nobody was seriously injured Thursday afternoon when a police pursuit that began in Indianapolis, and included the driver going the wrong way on Interstate 465, ended in a crash in Plainfield.

Plainfield Police Department public information officer Joe Aldridge said the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department pursued a yellow Dodge Ram following an investigation in Indianapolis. Officers ended the chase for safety reasons, Aldridge said.

RTV6's traffic cameras captured the truck entering I-465 from the exit ramp off 71st Street and driving the wrong way on the interstate.

About 30 minutes later, just before 3 p.m., a Plainfield police officer saw the truck on Raceway Road and attempted to pull it over. The driver of the truck again took off, but crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Raceway and U.S. 40.

Aldridge said there were minor injuries in the crash.

A 30-year-old man fled from the truck on foot and was arrested, while a 29-year-old woman was taken into custody at the scene of the crash.

Aldridge said the truck had been reported stolen in Madison County. The man and woman are both being held at the Hendricks County Jail.

RTV6 does not name suspects until formal charges are filed.
