INDIANAPOLIS — A 15-year-old male has been charged with murder for his alleged role in a deadly triple shooting on Indy's northwest side this month.
The Marion County Prosecutor's Office announced the suspect faces two murder charges, battery using a deadly weapon, and dangerous possession of a firearm.
On April 6, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department located three male victims with gunshot injuries in the 1400 block of West 27 Street.
Only one of the victims survived and 14-year-old Emmanuel J. Stone and 18-year-old Sean J. Cox were pronounced dead.
Detectives believe the incident started as a disturbance during a gun exchange.
“In a matter of seconds, a young person is alleged to have taken two lives and nearly a third, forever altering the lives of three families, and his own,” said Prosecutor Mears.
This case was filed in Juvenile Court per Indiana Statute. Prosecutors have filed a Petition to Waive Jurisdiction to Adult Court. A waiver hearing has not been set at this time.
