About $175,000 worth of coins taken in burglary near Shirley, according to police

SHIRLEY — Shirley police are investigating after $175,000 worth of coins were taken during a burglary on Thursday.

About $160,000 worth of 1.25 Gold Peso and $15,000 worth of silver mint coins were taken from a home on the outskirts of Shirley, according to an email from the Shirley Police Department.

Detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect or suspects involved with the burglary, SPD Chief Brian Pryor said.
