Family ID's 13-year-old killed in shooting

INDIANAPOLIS -- A 13-year-old died early Friday morning after a shooting on Indianapolis' east side.  

Shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 2200 block of Barnor Drive, a police spokesperson said. 

When they arrived, they found a 13-year-old boy laying in the street. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.

The 13-year-old has not been identified by police, but family members say his name is Harry Taliefer. 

Family members say the incident started a few days ago, and somebody brought a gun Thursday night and shot him.

Investigators believe there was a large crowd made up of about 20 juveniles. People are cooperating with the investigation, but asking anybody with info to call CrimeStoppers at 317-262-8477.
