Columbus police: Man arrested after stabbing, assaulted woman in parking lot

COLUMBUS — A man was arrested after stabbed and assaulted a woman in a parking lot after he crashed a stolen vehicle into a vehicle she was in, according to the Columbus Police Department.

Around 6:30 a.m. Friday, a woman called police and said she was being attacked in a parking lot in the 2500 block of Lincoln Park Drive, according to a press release from the police department.

The woman was later flown to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis is stable.

The suspect, who hasn't been identified, was located hiding in a residence in the 2500 block of 23rd Street and was arrested, according to the release.

Detectives are still investigating the incident. Additional details haven't been released.
