INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers are investigating after a driver rear-ended an unmarked patrol car early Thursday morning.
The crash happened just before 1 a.m. near 21st Street and Arlington Avenue on the city's east side.
IMPD told RTV6, on the scene, the officer exited his car and tried to speak with the driver, but the person took off.
A chase quickly ensued.
According to IMPD, the suspect lost control around 30th Street and Ritter Avenue, where they hit a fence. The driver then ran from the scene.
IMPD is still investigating the incident at the time of this reporting.
