AVON — For the first time in months, the family of Najah Ferrell, an Avon mother who went missing eight months ago, spoke publicly on Tuesday.
Ferrell's mother, Paula Gholson, says the last time anyone spoke with Najah was March 15 when she left for work, but she never made it there.
"That is not normal," Gholson said. "That is not normal to take somebody's life that was not involved in anything illegal, living a life of chance and haphazardly, no this was a mother."
A short time after she went missing, her car was located on Interstate 465 in Indianapolis and one of her body parts was located in a pond.

Since then, police say there have been no major developments in the case.
Indiana State Police detectives and FBI agents are assisting the Avon Police Department with the case.
