Female in stable condition after shooting on Indianapolis' east side

INDIANAPOLIS — A female is in stable condition after a shooting Wednesday evening on the east side of Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers and emergency personnel were called around 8 p.m. to the 6100 block of East 25th Street, near North Arlington Avenue, on the report of person shot, IMPD Officer Genae Cook said.

When they arrived, they found a female suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, Cook said. The female was in critical condition, but her condition was later changed to stable.

The identities of the female or any possible suspects have not been released.

Additional details surrounding the incident have not been released.
