FISHERS — Police in Fishers have arrested a juvenile in connection with a shooting in a neighborhood near an elementary school on Monday.
According to a report from Fishers police, a 15-year-old Indianapolis boy was arrested Tuesday evening in connection to a shooting shortly before 4 p.m. Monday near 104th Street and Olio Road, close to Geist Elementary School.
The victim in the shooting was taken to an area hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. Before being taken to the hospital, the victim gave police detailed information about the suspect. Officers established a perimeter and deployed K9 and drone units to assist in the search. After an extensive search, it was determined the suspect was no longer in the immediate area.
The suspect is being held in the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center. The suspect is being held on suspicion of the following charges: robbery, strangulation, pointing a firearm, intimidation, criminal confinement, aggravated battery, motor vehicle theft, dangerous possession of unlawful transfer of firearm.
