MORGANTOWN — Four people were arrested Friday night in Morgan County after allegedly breaking into a home in Morgantown.

Johnson County Sheriff's deputies were called around 6 p.m. Friday to a house in the 7600 block of West 125 South after a homeowner found her house unsecured when she came home, Johnson County Sheriff Duane Burgess said in a press release. With the assistance of several other law enforcement agencies, officers searched the heavily wooded area for the four suspects.

Around 9 p.m., the four suspects were taken into custody in Morgan County, Burgess said. Two 17-year-olds, of Greenwood, were arrested on the suspicion of burglary. An 18-year-old man and 19-year-old man, both of Greenwood, were also arrested on the suspicion of burglary.

A handgun was reported missing from the house, Burgess said.

The sheriff's office says it is important for people to report suspicious activity to deputies by calling 911 or 317-736-5155.
