BLOOMINGTON — A McDonald’s employee was charged with battery following an incident with a co-worker involving a thrown cheeseburger.
Bloomington police were dispatched after 11 p.m. Tuesday to the McDonald’s location on East 3rd Street regarding an assault.
According to a police report, an 18-year-old female employee reported she was working alongside the suspect, a 21-year-old male, when she commented he was working too slowly and that other employees were annoyed with his inefficiency.
After she asked him to hurry up, the man became angry. The two exchanged profanities and the man threw a cheeseburger at her. A McDonald’s manager confirmed to police that the cheeseburger struck the woman in the face.
The victim did not report any injuries, but she told police she wanted to pursue charges.
