GREENWOOD — Greenwood police are investigating a shooting incident that left one person dead on Sunday evening.

According to the Greenwood Police Department, a person died following a shooting near Liberty Way Drive.

The Johnson County Coroner's Office identified the person as 18-year-old Ethan David on Tuesday.

According to Greenwood PD, David was found shot in a car in the area. Witnesses say they saw two individuals running from the scene after hearing a single gun shot.

On Wednesday, Greenwood police announced the arrest of a 17-year-old boy and 15-year-old girl.

On Thursday, 17-year-old Quincy Stringer Jr. was formally charged with murder as an adult.

The Johnson County Prosecutor's Office is seeking to have the 15-year-old charged as an adult with Murder, Aiding Armed Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery.

Prosecutor Lance Hamner wants would-be juvenile offenders to know that adult crimes will result in adult consequences.

"If you commit a grown-up crime, you'll do grown-up time," Hamner said.

Stringer Jr., a student at Whiteland High School, and the arrested 15-year-old made a plan to rob a drug dealer. At some point during the planned robbery, Stringer Jr. shot David in the head, according to court documents.

The casing found at the scene matched back to a gun that Stringer was found to be in possession of.
