INDIANAPOLIS — Two people are dead after what police believe was a murder-suicide on the near north side of Indianapolis Monday afternoon.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 400 block of West 38th Street shortly after noon.
Police said Washington Township constables made the 911 call after hearing two gunshots inside a residence as they were outside for an eviction.
When officers arrived they located an adult male and female with gunshot injuries located inside a bedroom. Police said both victims were pronounced deceased.
IMPD detectives believe this to be a murder-suicide. A firearm was located on the scene and recovered as evidence.
