IMPD investigating east side shooting after juvenile dies from gunshot wound

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that happened early Friday morning on the city's east side.

Officers were called to the 300 Block of North Bradley Avenue on reports of a person shot. The exact time of the incident was not initially made available by the department.

When police arrived, they found a male, later identified as a juvenile, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition, where he soon after arrival died due to his injuries. The juvenile was later identified as Ja'ron Bonds, 17.

At the time of this reporting, it is unknown by officials what may have led up to the shooting.
