INDIANAPOLIS — Two people were shot at an assisted living facility on the east side of Indianapolis Monday night.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to Rosewalk Assisted Living, at 1301 N. Ritter Ave., on reports of a person shot just after 7:15 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot injury. He was reported to be in “very” critical condition, but later died.

A short time later, officers say they received another call from a second victim at a secondary location who had been shot at the facility. The second victim is reported to be in stable condition.

Police say an employee let her boyfriend into the facility, who was involved in an altercation with another employee in the kitchen area. Shots were fired as a result of their altercation.

The victim who was located at the scene was identified as the employee's boyfriend, and the second victim was identified as the other employee.

This incident is still under investigation.
