INDIANAPOLIS — Police in Indianapolis are investigating after a person was fatally shot on the west side of the city Thursday afternoon.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the 2200 block of West McCarty Street for a death investigation just after noon.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot injury. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the man as 29-year-old Davonte Nix.
