IMPD looking for tow truck driver after allegedly crashing into police car, evading police

INDIANAPOLIS — A tow truck driver is on the run after allegedly crashing into a police car and evading officers Saturday morning in Indianapolis, police say.

A tow truck driver backed into an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department car after officers tried to stop the truck around 7 a.m. near Massachusetts Avenue and North Sherman Drive, IMPD Officer Aaron Hamer said.

Police are still looking for the tow truck driver after they were able to get away, Hamer said.

A description of the tow truck or the driver was not immediately available.

No injuries were reported.
