INDIANAPOLIS — Police are actively investigating after a fatal shooting near 38th Street and Post Road on Tuesday.
According to police, officers were called to the 9100 block of E. 38th Place around 1:30 p.m. for a person shot call. There, officers located a person with fatal gunshot wounds.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation.
Detectives believe the suspect and victim knew one another.
According to detectives, the suspect was in the driver’s seat of a vehicle and the victim was in the passenger seat when shots were fired, resulting in the victim being shot.
The suspect then exited the driver’s seat and ran southbound armed with a firearm.
Officers set up a perimeter in an attempt to locate the suspect, however, the suspect was not located.
