Indianapolis police make arrest in southeast side murder case

INDIANAPOLIS — Police in Indianapolis have made an arrest in the shooting death of a man last week on the city's southeast side.

According to a report from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, investigators on Monday identified and arrested a 25-year-old man who was allegedly involved in the shooting death of a 27-year-old man last week.

On Dec. 3 just before 9 p.m., police were called to the area of Minnesota and State streets on report of shots fired. A short time later, there was another 911 call reporting someone shot in the 1600 block of Harlan. Officers arrived and found an adult male with gunshot wounds.

The victim was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition. The victim, identified as Justus Hudson, 27, later died.

On Monday, IMPD homicide detectives arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of murder. WRTV is not identifying the man pending the filing of formal charges by the Marion County Prosecutor's Office.
