BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY — A Kentucky man was arrested for allegedly kidnapping a woman and forcing her to drive her vehicle Friday afternoon on Interstate-65 in Bartholomew County.
Bartholomew County Sheriff's deputies were called around 1:15 p.m. to the rest area near the 72-mile marker of Interstate-65 after hearing a woman was possibly kidnapped, being held at gunpoint, and being forced to drive her vehicle, Caitlyn Gross, of the sheriff's office said in a press release.
Deputies located a 22 year-old Louisville man, who allegedly approached the woman in Clarksville while she was cleaning out her car and forced her to begin to drive towards Indianapolis, Gross said. The woman was able to drive to get help after the man got out of her car at the rest area.
The man was arrested and preliminary charged with criminal confinement and possession of marijuana, Gross said.
Detectives are still investigating the incident.
