BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY — A man was arrested early Thursday morning after allegedly striking and spitting at a Bartholomew County Sheriff deputy.
A Bartholomew County Sheriff's deputy was notified of a disturbance while on patrol around 5:15 a.m. Thursday near the Sunnybrooke Mobile Home Park, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.
When the deputy arrived, a 20-year-old man allegedly became belligerent before trying to leave, according to the release. The man then allegedly struck the deputy in her face and spat on her. The deputy was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital and was later released.
The man was later arrested on the suspicion of battery on a public safety official, battery with bodily waste to law enforcement, illegal consumption of alcohol, disorderly conduct, and resisting law enforcement, according to the release.
