INDIANAPOLIS — A warrant has been filed for a man in connection with the death of a woman who was found in November inside a Fountain Square church, according to police.
A warrant for murder has been filed against Robert Burks, 57, for his alleged connection to the death of Julie Morey, 58, according to a press release from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
IMPD officers were called around 9:15 a.m. on Nov. 3 to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 950 Prospect Street, and found Morey dead on a couch in the Religious Education Center building, according to the release. She died from strangulation and multiple stab wounds, according to the Marion County Coroner's Office.

Burks is in custody in connection to a separate case in Monroe County, according to the release.
On Feb 5., Burks was charged in Monroe County with theft, resisting law enforcement, and unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, according to online court records.
