Man dies after fight between rival motorcycle clubs in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE — A man has died after he stabbed during a fight between rival motorcycle clubs outside a Lafayette sports bar.

According to a report from Lafayette police, officers were called to the Big League Sports Bar, 140 Frontage Road, at 10:21 p.m. Saturday on report of a fight taking place between two rival motorcycle clubs.

When officers arrived, they found one person dead and three others who needed to be transported to area hospitals for treatment.

Police said two men were inside the bar and stepped outside. They were confronted by a group of Hells Angels Motorcycle Club members. Police said a man used a metal object to strike one of the men in the head. The man who was struck in the head then stabbed the man who hit him. The man who was stabbed, identified by police as Nicholas Lusson, died at the scene. The other manw as taken to an area hospital for treatment.

During the fight, a bouncer at the nightclub was attacked by another man who had brass knuckles. The bouncer was taken to a hospital for treatment. The man who struck him was arrested on suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon and suspicion of aggravated battery.

During the altercation, another man threatened the bouncer with a handgun. That individual was arrested on suspicion of pointing a firearm.

A second man was stabbed in the torso during the fight and was taken to an area hospital, police said. None of the injuries of those taken to area hospitals is believed to be life-threatening, police said.

WRTV is not identifying the other individuals involved in the incident because they have not been charged by the Tippecanoe County Prosecutor's Office.
