Police asking for public's help in finding "person of interest" in stabbing death

INDIANAPOLIS — Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down a man who may be a suspect in a stabbing death Friday on the Indianapolis northeast side.

A public information officer for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says the man they are looking for frequents the apartments in the area of North Post Road and East 42nd Street. He has a noticeable scar on his head from a prior injury.

The victim, who has not been identified, was stabbed at about 9 a.m. Friday at 4014 Stratford Court. He was rushed to a hospital where he died.
