Man found shot and killed on Indianapolis' south side

INDIANAPOLIS — A man was killed in an early morning shooting Saturday on the south side of Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers and emergency personnel, including officers from the Southport Police Department, were called around 3 a.m. to the 8100 block of Siear Terrace, near East Stop 11 Road and Madison Avenue, on the report of shots fired, IMPD Officer Genae Cook said in a press release.

Southport police officers, who were the first to arrive at the scene, and IMPD officers located a man who appeared to be shot lying in the street, Cook said. He later died.

The name of the victim or any possible suspects have not been released.
