INDIANAPOLIS -- The victim of a hit-and-run from earlier this week has died.

Police say Bronson Gooch, 33, was riding his bicycle south on Shadeland Avenue at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday when he was struck by a vehicle.

Gooch was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. He died Friday morning, a spokesperson with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.

Officers with Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department could not find Gooch's bicycle at the scene. Police believe the bicycle was either stuck to the suspect's vehicle, or somebody stopped to pick it up.

Investigators say suspect's vehicle was a 1990-1995 Chevy Astro Van or GMC Safari of an unknown color. The vehicle will have heavy front end damage, including on the hood and windshield.

Anybody with any information on the incident should contact the IMPD Accident Investigations Office at 317-327-6549 or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-8477.
