INDIANAPOLIS — A man was shot and killed Monday afternoon near a convenience store on the southwest side of Indianapolis
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers and emergency personnel were called around 4:15 p.m. to the 4400 block of Mann Road, near Kentucky Avenue, on the report of a person shot, IMPD Officer Genae Cook said.
When they arrived, they found a man who appeared to have been shot, Cook said. He later died.

Investigators believe the shooting happened after a struggle for a gun during a transaction, Cook said.
Other people who were possibly involved with the transaction were still on scene when police arrived and they are cooperating with detectives, Cook said.
The Marion County Coroner has identified the victim as Daemon Link, 18. Link died from a gunshot wound, according to the coroner.
The details surrounding the incident remain under investigation by IMPD homicide detectives.
