INDIANAPOLIS — A man who was found unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound to the head on Friday in Indianapolis died Sunday, according to police.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called around noon Friday to the 900 block of North Tuxedo Street, near 10th Street and North Sherman Drive, on the report of a person down, IMPD Officer Genae Cook said in an email. When they arrived, they found a man unconscious and suffering from an injury to his head.
The man was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition, where doctors determined his injuries were consistent with a gunshot wound, Cook said. He died on Sunday.
The man was later identified as Billy Bowman, 45.
