INDIANAPOLIS — A man was shot and killed early Monday morning outside a business on Indianapolis' west side.

The shooting happened just before 1 a.m., near the intersection of 10th Street and Tibbs Avenue.

Responding officers found a man in his 30s unresponsive in the parking lot of a business. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was identified by the Marion County Coroner's Office as 35-year-old Jose Lopez-Arriaga.

Another man was treated for a wrist injury at the scene. It was not immediately clear what caused the injury.

Investigators had language barrier issues as they tried to talk to witnesses, a police spokesperson said. They are hoping to get evidence from cameras on nearby businesses.
