LAWRENCE — A man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Saturday evening in Lawerence, according to police.
A man crossing the road was struck by a small white SUV around 7:30 p.m. in the 4300 block of North Shadeland Avenue, Lawrence Police Department Deputy Chief Gary Woodruff said in a press release.
Officers later located the vehicle abandoned at the Shadeland Terrace Apartments near East 46th Street and North Shadeland Avenue, Woodruff said.
The man's identity has not been released.
Detectives are still investigating the incident and are asking for anyone with information to report tips anonymously to Crimes Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
