FISHERS — A Kentucky man wanted for attempted murder was arrested Saturday afternoon after a traffic stop in Fishers, according to state police.

The 25-year-old man, of Louisville, Kentucky, was stopped by an Indiana State Police trooper for going 86 mph in a 65 mph zone on Interstate 69 near 96th Street, Indiana State Police Sgt. John Perrine said in a press release.

Troopers found two loaded handguns in the vehicle, Perrine said. He was arrested and preliminarily charged with possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon. Formal charges haven't been filed yet, according to online court records.

The man also had other open warrants out of Kentucky, Perrine said.

He was taken to the Hamilton County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Kentucky.
