GREENFIELD — A Greenfield man who was intoxicated when his vehicle hit and killed a woman who was out for a walk will be going to prison.

71-year-old Kathy Davis was struck last September on McKenzie Road at Brandywine Street in Greenfield.

The suspect, 40-year-old Jeremy Thompson, tested twice the legal limit, according to investigators. He pleaded guilty to causing death while operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

A Hancock County judge sentenced Thompson to 10-years, of which four will be served in prison and six on probation—including two-years in community corrections.
