Marion police arrest three people in connection with murder of father, 2 sons

MARION — Police have made three arrests in connection with the murder of a father and his two sons at their Marion home back in December.

Javon Blackwell, 42, and his sons, Javon Jr., 12, and Jayzon, 11, were found dead in their home in the 2300 block of S. Gallatin Street on December 30.

Lemere Jones, 29, and Demetrius Jackson, 25, are each charged with three counts of murder, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and armed robbery in connection with the three deaths. Brittany Drake, 29, is charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery in connection with the murders.

Jones and Jackson have also been c harged in connection with the murder of 19-year-old Maurtreyviaun Sanders on November 6.

Police have charged Jones in connection with an armed robbery at a Family Dollar on December 23, as well.

The Marion Police Department says more arrests may be forthcoming.

The investigations into all three cases are still ongoing and no other details have been released at this time.
