INDIANAPOLIS — A mother is still fighting for justice after her daughter was shot and killed outside her home in December.

Ruby Berry is placing yard signs near West 38th Street and Lafayette Road, hoping someone will come forward with information on who killed 26-year-old Alexis Edward.

She was shot and killed on Dec. 29 outside of her house near West 52nd Street and Georgetown Road. Her 3-year-old son was also shot but survived.

Berry is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

"Every day I wake up I feel all over the nightmare. You can't breathe you are empty inside," Berry said. "Knowing the people that ambushed my daughter, killed her like an animal, and also shot my grandson who was 3, it's hurtful. It's hurtful to look at my two grandchildren, they are hurting."

Berry says Edward's two sons ask every day who shot their mom.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives are still investigating the case. Berry wants anyone with information to come forward so their family can get closure.
