MARION — Two people were injured, one fatally, in a shooting Saturday night at a Marion mobile home park.

Around 11:30 p.m. Marion Police Department officers and emergency responders were called to the Lu Ida Mobile Home Park, on the city's southwest side, on the report of a person shot, Marion Police Department Deputy Chief Stephen Dorsey said in a press release. When they arrived, they located a 65-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man who were both shot.

A 13-year-old boy, who was sleeping in the trailer at the time of the shooting, was not injured, Dorsey said.

Cheryl Mann, 65, was flown by a medical helicopter to a hospital in critical condition in Fort Wayne, Dorsey said. She later died.

Jonathon Lovell, 30, was taken to a hospital in Fort Wayne by ambulance and is in stable condition, Dorsey said. Lovell is Mann's grandson.

Police are still working to identify a possible motive and suspect.

The incident remains under investigation by the Marion Police Department.
