Man died after shooting on far eastside of Indy

INDIANAPOLIS — A person died Monday evening after a fatal shooting on the far east side of Indianapolis.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to a report of a person shot at 10100 John Jay Dr. around 6 p.m. There they found 20-year-old Keonte Walls with gunshot wounds.

After initially being listed in critical condition, Walls died at the scene.

Detectives believe the shooting occurred in the 10000 block of Montery Road. Walls was then driven to the location on John Jay Drive.

IMPD is asking anyone with cameras in the area of Montery Road to review their cameras shortly before 6 p.m. on Monday to see if they may have captured the incident or anyone coming or going from the area.
