INDIANAPOLIS -- One person is dead after a bizarre series of events on Indianapolis' southeast side early Sunday morning.
It all started around the 2300 block of Hoyt Avenue just after 4 a.m. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers say they're investigating three separate incidents on the same street around the same time - but they aren't sure any of them are connected.
Police were first called out for a burglary in the area, but were unable to locate the home they were sent to. While searching for that home, officers ended up finding a man lying in a driveway with a gunshot wound.
That man died before he could be taken to the hospital. His identity has not been released yet.
Police arrested three people on the scene.
Shawn Frederick, 45, was arrested for a completely separate burglary.
An IMPD spokesperson also said that a second person who had been shot showed up at that location on Hoyt Avenue around the same time they were investigating the other incidents. That man was treated and released and then arrested for an outstanding warrant along with another person.
So far no arrests have been made in connection with the person who was killed.
