Man shot and killed on city's northwest side, police say

INDIANAPOLIS — A person has been shot and killed Sunday evening on the city's northwest side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Officers responded to a report of a person shot at the 4200 block of North High School Road.

Arriving at the scene, officers located a man inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.

Pike Township Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the man deceased.

He was identified as Da Kylen Treyon Malix White, 19, according to the Marion County Coroner's Office.

"Picking up a weapon and trying to solve your disputes with a gun is not the option. There are other ways that you can resolve conflict." IMPD Public Information Officer Samone Burris said.

Julius Beverly, 19, was charged with murder and robbery on Sept. 9, records show.

IMPD is asking anyone who may have been at the store during the time of this incident, may have been driving past, or may have seen individuals walk away from this scene, to contact their homicide office at 317-327-3475.
