INDIANAPOLIS — A person was critically injured in a shooting Thursday evening on the east side of Indianapolis, according to police.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to investigate the incident around 7:50 p.m. to the 4600 block of East New York Street, near North Drexel Avenue.
Officers and emergency personnel found a person with an apparent gunshot wound when they arrived, IMPD Officer Genae Cook said in an email. They are in critical condition.
Additional information, including the identity of the person shot, has not been released.
IMPD is also investigating after two people were shot just before at an apartment complex on the city's northeast side.
