INDIANAPOLIS — A 2-year-old child is in serious condition after a shooting Friday evening at an apartment complex on the north side of Indianapolis, according to police.
The child was taken to Riley Hospital for Children after the shooting around 5 p.m. in the 3300 block of North Meridian Street, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Capt. Lawrence Wheeler said at the scene.
Detectives believe the shooting was accidental.
The people who were inside the apartment at the time of the shooting are cooperating with police, Wheeler said.
