Person in critical condition after shooting on Indianapolis' south side

INDIANAPOLIS — A person was critically injured after a shooting Sunday evening on the south side of Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called around 5 p.m. to the area near Ransdell Street and East Pleasant Run Parkway North Drive, just west of Garfield Park, to investigate the incident.

When they arrived, they found a person with at least one apparent gunshot wound, IMPD Officer Samone Burris said in an email.

Police are investigating the shooting.
