Person in serious condition after late-night shooting on Indianapolis' west side

INDIANAPOLIS — A person is in serious condition after a shooting late Thursday night on the west side of Indianapolis, police said.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to investigate the shooting around 11 p.m. in the 7300 block of West 10th Street, near North Girl School Road, IMPD Officer William Young said in an email.

Officers found a person who appeared to be suffering from at least one gunshot wound when they arrived, Young said. They were taken to a local hospital.

Their identity has not been released.

Details on what may have led to the shooting have not been released.
