Woman dies after being shot, pushed out of car in parking lot on Indianapolis' east side

INDIANAPOLIS -- A woman died after she was shot and pushed out of a car Sunday afternoon on Indianapolis' east side.

It happened around 3:15 p.m. in the 2800 block of E. New York Street.

A spokesperson for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says the woman was behind the wheel of a grey Lexus sedan that pulled into the parking lot of the NY Express.

Police say a shot was fired and the man who was in the passenger seat pushed the woman out and drove away

She was pronounced dead at the scene. She has been identified as Catrina Russell, 49. 

Her car was found a short time later in the 1500 block of Kealing Avenue.

The man has not been located
