Person shot, killed in downtown Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — A shooting in downtown Indianapolis on Sept. 7 turned fatal on Sept. 11 when the man injured died at a local hospital.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the area of Wilson Street and West 10th Street on reports of a person shot just after 3:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers located 35-year-old Willie Williams suffering from a gunshot injury. Williams died on Sept. 11 at an Indy hospital.

A firearm was also located and collected as evidence from within the vehicle.
