INDIANAPOLIS — An 18-year-old was shot and killed at Gardner Park near East 46th Street and Shadeland Avenue on the city's northeast side Tuesday evening, IMPD said.
According to police, the incident happened just before 8 p.m. when officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 6900 block of East 46th Street.
When officers arrived at the location, they found the victim, later identified as 18-year-old Javian Rhodes, with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.
Medics pronounced Rhodes pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives were called to conduct an initial investigation.
