INDIANAPOLIS — A person has died after being shot on the near east side of Indianapolis.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the 1600 block of East Ohio Street just after 1 p.m. on reports of a person shot.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male in the backyard suffering from a gunshot injury. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The events leading up to the shooting are under investigation. Police say all involved parties have been identified.
The Marion County Coroner's Office will release the victim's identity once his family is notified.
