INDIANAPOLIS -- A man who was shot Thursday morning on Indianapolis' near-east side has died.
The shooting happened around 11 a.m. near the intersection of Washington Street and Hendricks Place.
When officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrived on the scene, they found a man on the porch who appeared to have been shot.
The victim was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, but IMPD says he died Thursday afternoon. The man's name has not been released.

A suspect was seen running from the scene, police said.
Between 11:30 a.m. and noon Thursday, police expanded the crime scene by a few houses as they found bloody footprints and more evidence of the shooting.
