Police investigate deadly shooting at apartment complex on Indianapolis' northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS — A person is dead after a shooting Friday afternoon at an apartment complex on the northwest side of Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers found a male with at least one apparent gunshot wound around 12:20 p.m. in the 4600 block of Abington Way, IMPD Officer Michael Hewitt said in a press release.

The male later died, Hewitt said. Their age or identity have not been released.

Additional details surrounding the incident have not been released.

Detectives are also investigating a double homicide early Friday morning on the west side.
