Police investigating after woman shot on westside of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating after a woman was shot Sunday afternoon on the westside of Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers and emergency responders were called around 4 p.m. on the report of a person shot near West 34th Street and Lafayette Road, Officer Genae Cook said.

At this time, the condition of the victim is unknown.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
